2018 Genesis G70 Gives Us Our First Look at Brand’s First Sport Sedan

The 2018 Genesis G70 has long-since been known to be the brand’s first sport sedan, but it wasn’t until yesterday that we saw what it would look like. It certainly looks the part, with a long hood, short greenhouse, and impressive styling cues. But looks aren’t going to help it against the likes of the big three German models, but what’s under the hood seems ready to make a strong case.

Numerous powertrains will be offered in the new G70, but the two we’re most likely to get are a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four—a classic offering in its class-with 248 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Sport models get a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, which beats the performance offerings of all three German models. That’s promising, considering their caliber. Genesis is also loading up the G70 with standard features not found on those competitors, like a rear-view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more.

The G70 is scheduled to arrive in the winter of 2018 at our Round Rock, TX location. To learn more, contact our showroom, or browse our new Genesis inventory to see when it becomes available. Then we can schedule you for a test drive.
